After top-tier rankings in Zagat’s 2014 Chicago Restaurant Guide, and a highly-coveted star in this year’s Chicago Michelin Guide — Senza’s done it again!

The results are in, and Senza has now made OpenTable‘s  just-released Top 100 Restaurants in America list one of only 6 Chicago restaurants on this year’s list!   OpenTable determined the list of honorees after analyzing more than five million reviews of nearly 19,000 restaurants across the country — all submitted by verified diners.

Senza seems to be on a roll….and now on a biscuit and muffin too! Since opening last fall, Senza continues to wow the fine-dining scene, with Chef Noah Sandoval’s imaginative take on new American cuisine….all while remaining surprisingly 100% gluten-free.

Now, Senza owners Susan McMillan and Amelia Fonti, both avid bakers, have launched a mornings-only, gluten-free bakery from within the tiny jewel box of a space, located at 2873 North Broadway, Chicago. Open 9 a.m. to Noon Tuesdays through Fridays, the line-up includes:

– Mini Breads
– English Muffins
– Biscuits
– Chocolate Chip Cookies
– Blueberry, and Orange Poppyseed Muffins
– Coconut Macaroons
– Date Maamouls
– Pecan Clouds
– Dark Chocolate Doughnuts 
 
 As things may tend to be gobbled-up quickly, McMillan and Fonti advise ordering ahead, by calling the bakery line direct at 773-944-0332. In addition to Tuesday-Friday 9 a.m. to Noon bakery hours, Senza serves dinner 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Senza Now Open, Exec Chef Noah Sandoval

Gentle rumblings have been making their way through Chicago recently, as top Chicago restaurant veteran Noah Sandoval (Schwa, Green Zebra, C-House, Takashi, Spring) quietly works behind-the-scenes of Senza, an intimate jewel box of a space recently opened at 2873 North Broadway.

 
In his role as Executive Chef of Senza, Sandoval, along with owners Susan McMillan and Amelia Fonti, presents a line-up of American cuisine focusing on fresh, local ingredients, blending both modern and classic techniques. Signature items begin with favorites including Grilled Little Gem Lettuce — with anchovy, tomato, caper and crouton ($8), Foie Gras — with quince, red onion, strawberry, pistachio ($18), giving way to entrees like Tagliatelle — with tomato, artichoke, chantrelle and truffle ($24) and
N.Y Strip — with smoked potato, root vegetable, blackberry, tarragon ($30).
 
Yet in the short time since opening, the most popular way to experience Senza seems to be in the form of it prix fixe plans: a 5-course, $75 Tasting Menu (each course paired with wine $25 additional) and an incredible 9-course, $105 Grand Menu (each course paired with wine $40 additional).
Sandoval’s creations are presented in a setting created by top designer Karen Herold of  555 International (Girl & the Goat, Gucci, GT Fish & Oyster, Burberry), featuring a unique blend of natural, hand-finished woods, warming textures, and modern art. The combination of flavors and space blend together to create an experience to satisfy the senses… and an experience that also happens to surprisingly be entirely gluten-free. 
 
Dinner is served Tuesday-Saturday 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Senza is located at 2873 North Broadway, Chicago.
