Get ready for the big “one” as Local Root, an oasis of locally-sourced, organic freshness — tucked in the heart of Chicago’s high-rise-heavy Streeterville neighborhood, marks its one-year anniversary with a free day-long celebration Wednesday, Oct 2.
Since opening last-fall, this casual-by-day, dinner and wine bar by night, has attracted a loyal following, with a lunch-time line-up of fresh salads, soups, flat-breads, burgers and sandwiches featuring seasonal, farm-to-table ingredients, alongside home baked breads, muffins, cookies and Local Root’s own signature brand of house-made sodas.
By night, watch for rotating favorites like free-range chicken and barbecue pork ribs, grass-fed steak frites, and fresh seafood specials, teamed with organic cheese and charcuterie boards, dozens of local craft beers and small batch liquors, along with an impressive regional wine list.
On Wednesday, October 2, the Local Root gang fires-up their outdoor patio grill, hosting a FREE BARBECUE to celebrate their 1-year milestone. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day, Local Root will offer absolutely free grass-fed beef burgers, jumbo hotdogs, and free-range barbecue pork ribs.
