As Mad Boiler celebrates its fourth month since opening, the strap-on-a-bib messy madness rages-on at this West Loop Cajun seafood boil concept.
Sporting standard-issue plastic bibs and gloves, armed with shellfish crackers and shellers, guests are digging their way through mounds of crab legs, crawfish, Dungeness crab, lobster, mussels, and more. The adventure begins by selecting from 11 priced-by-the-pound seafood offerings, then choosing sauces like Garlic Butter, Sweet Chili, Louisiana, and Mad Boiler’s signature Coconut Curry. From there, pick a spice level ranging form mild to full heat, along with adds-ons including corn-on-the-cob, potatoes, sausage, and Jasmine rice. Then, it’s time to dig in with both hands and enjoy a customized seafood boil feast, served alongside a line-up of craft beers and cocktails, including Mad Boiler’s popular N’orleans-style Hurricane.
Recently named Chicago Magazine’s “10 Hottest Restaurants in Chicago” list, Mad Boiler is located at 1045 West Madison, Chicago, 312-291-8182.
