Children’s Book Author Casts Big Shadow

Mike Foran Public Relations arranged for popular children’s author Laura Robinson to stop by ABC-7 Chicago today to tape a special interview with anchor Linda Yu, scheduled to air on ABC-7 News this Christmas Eve.

Laura is both author and illustrator of William and the Christmas Moon, a shadow-casting bedtime story which transforms a child’s bedroom into a magical shadow theater. A special flashlight illuminates the text for the reader, while projecting large shadows of the intricate laser-cut illustrations onto the wall.

The book was previously only available through Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, along with Laura’s first book, William and the Magic Ring, which together have sold a combined total more than 125,000 copies to date. Laura recently moved to Chicago from the East Coast, and both books are now carried exclusively in the Chicago-area market at Sawbridge Studios’ Chicago and Winnetka locations.
